Even though it was our first Specialist Pathway lesson since half term, it was quite a quiet day, where everyone carried on with their individual projects. Also, college itself was a bit quiet, as only Higher Education courses were in today (so that includes me).
I also thought about the work I was doing yesterday (the group project, as well as what I was doing in the lesson, Pokemon digital drawing for Facebook that was set by a couple of my Facebook friends) and I was thinking, because the Pokemon I had drawn was blue, I could use that in the online campaign!
I feel that today's most important time was when Ananda and I presented our work so far this morning. This was worrying me, because up to this point I have only done research and am unsure if it is really finished. Ananda presented his work first, and I do think he has struggled with this slightly. Clearly he has done research, and was able to talk a lot about his findings and his project, but I'm not sure whether he has recorded much of it, and also didn't seem to consider much about how his project will help his work. He has done a few quick sketches of his designs, which is something I haven't done yet, but still needs lots of development work. I did feel that Neil was being quite tough on him, but I could understand what Neil was asking of him.
I suppose I had quite an advantage not presenting my work first because I could then think about how I was going to present my work and what I was going to say about it. To my surprise my presentation went very well, and Neil was very pleased with the work I had done so far. I did get some constructive feedback, to structure my work more and to actually decide what I will base my tutorial on, all things I definitely feel will be achievable in the near future. Neil also said to look at more existing 3D models of cartoon characters such as Spongebob, and to also compare notes from watching To Infinity and Beyond! which is something I watched last year.
After the presentations we just carried on with our work. Because I feel more pressure from the group project, I decided to catch up with work from yesterday. I have also started my Cover Photo drawing of myself and my classmates, and so far it is going well. I just need to consider what poses I can draw each person in to capture their personalities the best way I can.
