This weekend I finally got around to making my first ever video tutorial! I felt really nervous making it, and having to talk about and explain everything I was doing in my tutorial, but as I was making the tutorial I soon settled into talking a bit more calmly about the tutorial, despite me making a few mistakes during the tutorial. I may edit these mistakes out of the video, to make it look more professional. I used the Art Attack method where I show the audience how to do one step then jump to the completed step I made earlier, which I feel works really well, as I don't have to waste the viewer's time watching me build something that could take over half an hour, which would be a very long video tutorial, which may result in viewers losing focus after a while. My video tutorial ended up being 20 minutes long, which I feel is very reasonable being my first video tutorial and for it to cover the basics in Maya. I could also make the video shorter by editing it, and I plan to get feedback from Neil and the family.
The online campaign group, "Pixel" also met this weekend as planned. Only myself, Ananda, Aimee and Mike attended the meeting, but I feel it went really well, despite us not having much to discuss for the topic other than the work we wish to post on the group page and the fact that Aimee had not received all the fully copyrighted work and the promotional money yet. Fortunately I have paid my promotional money and Aimee has my work ready for next Sunday. However, I do feel that I had a nice time spending time with these people in a more relaxed environment, and this could be a potential friendship group for me. My birthday is coming up next month, so it may be nice to plan something with these people.
I have also had the best idea ever to celebrate my time at college, which is to have a Graduation Party for me, and I could invite anyone who I feel has made my time at college special. It could also be like a reunion party for some of the people I have in mind as well!
